Bimbo Akintola Early Life and Education

Abimbola is the third kid in a household of six. Encouraged by her mother, she started acting as a student with her classmates for the school's end-of-year theater performances. As she took part in more plays, her excitement for acting grew more intense until it eventually became second nature.

She was raised in Maryland, Lagos, where she attended the Maryland Convent Private School for her primary education and the Lagos-based Command Day School for her secondary education. She finished her theater arts undergraduate degree at the University of Ibadan. When she was still a student, the actress used to perform with the late Jaiye Aboderin every weekend at a club called Divine on Allen Avenue in Lagos.

Her acting debut was in the 1995 film OWO BLOW, which starred Femi Adebayo. She co-starred in the 1997 film Out of Bounds with Richard Mofe Damijo. She was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2013 Nollywood Movies Awards.
