Robert Oyimemise Peters was born in Sabon Gari, Kaduna State, Nigeria, on June 6, 1973. He was the second of his parents' eight children. He was born to Afemai-descended Lawrence Adagba and Comfort Peters in Ososo, Akoko Edo Local Government, Edo State.
Robert Peters received his primary education in Kaduna at St. Gregory Primary School. He earned a mining and geology degree from the University of Jos in Nigeria. In 2004, Mr. Peters successfully completed a Visual Storytelling course at the New York Academy.
He also went to REDucation in Atlanta for hands-on training with the Film Career Connection for instruction on Red cameras and equipment.
Robert and Deborah Peters gave birth to the couple's son, Zachary Lawrence Onafa-Orafa Peters.
