Skales reveals how Olamide changed his life with one call
Nigerian artist Skales, real name Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, has described how legendary rapper Olamide helped him when he left EME Records.
He claimed that once his contract with Empire Mates Entertainment terminated, he was made homeless and had no money, but Olamide provided for him financially.
Skales made this revelation in a conversation with well-known media figure Chude Jideonwo. He also said that the label declined to renew his contract since they couldn't generate money off of him.
Before his song "Shake Body" became a club hit, Olamide allegedly called the artist and inquired if he wasn't going to record a music video for it.
Skales claimed that after telling the YBNL leader that he was broke, Olamide provided him money so that he could complete the video shoot, which is when the Shake Boy became the current blockbuster song.
He said: “My deal with them [EME] was done and they refused to continue because I wasn’t doing well at that time.“Olamide contacted me and said he loved one of my songs, Shake Body, and asked if I wasn’t going to shoot the video. I told him I was homeless and couldn’t possibly shoot a video and he sent me money. My God turned my life around after that video shoot”
