Israel Adesanya's knockout of Alex Pereira at UFC 287 to win the middleweight title this morning has earned rapper Drake a whooping $2.7 million (or $1,255,500,000.00).

The New Zealander, who is of Nigerian descent, regained the 185-pound title barely five months after losing it to Pereira, a fierce opponent who has twice defeated him in kickboxing.

After betting $1.6 million on Adesanya to win that bout, Drake lost the bet, but in his rematch with Pereira, he made up for it.
The Canadian, according to Mirror UK, gambled $500,000 on Adesanya to win, which paid out $885,000, and $400,000 on him to win via knockout, which paid him a whopping $1.8 million.

After their fight, "Stylebender" was questioned about Drake's bet, to which he responded:
“Shoutout to everyone that bet on me but you have to realise that when I step into the octagon I put my life on the line. That’s the biggest parlay you can ever do. I’m a betting man too so shoutout to stake, we are about to make another deal and get more money.”
Adesanya has won 24 fights in his mixed martial arts (MMA) career, with just two losses before to his victory over Pereira.
Israel Adesanya said on his verified Instagram profile following his triumph:
I don’t throw and hope, I aim and fire!”
