As Tinubu prepares to assume office on May 29, he expressed his determination to emulate the good examples set by leaders like Yar'Adua, whom he described as a symbol of selfless service and dedication to the Nigerian people.

Tinubu's tribute to Yar'Adua highlights the importance of recognizing and honoring past leaders who have made significant contributions to the development of Nigeria. It also underscores the need for current and future leaders to learn from the examples of their predecessors and strive to build on their legacies.

The statement titled ‘We will never forget you’ partly reads; “Today, as always, I remember my good friend and brother in the struggle for democracy and good governance in Nigeria, late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, who died on this day 13 years ago.

“May 5, 2010 may have long gone but, for some of us, the wound is still fresh. We remember the day as much as we remember the purposeful life lived by Mallam Umaru Yar’Adua.
