Make up Artist Ciata Jolie break down in tears as she narrates how man scammed her of her life savings

Ciata, a talented makeup artist, had a long-held dream of owning a landed property. In December 2022, she decided to make that dream a reality by taking her savings to her hometown in search of a suitable piece of land. After some scouting, she found a promising piece of land in her state and approached the owner, who claimed to have inherited it from his father.

According to Ciata, the owner convinced her of his trustworthiness and honesty, having undergone traditional rites to ensure a life of integrity. Convinced by his assurances, Ciata paid him N4 million as the first installment and signed the necessary documents.

However, in January 2023, when she began to fence the land, her father joined her to work on the property. Before commencing work, Ciata had already paid N400,000, which included a development fee of N350,000. But just as she was preparing to leave the village, she received a phone call from someone claiming ownership of the same land.

This threw her off balance, and to make matters worse, the person claiming ownership drew a skull-like figure on the fence to ward off people. It was later discovered that the land had been sold previously, and the person Ciata paid the N4 million to was notorious for running land sale scams, of which Ciata was now a victim.

Sharing her experience, Ciata advised others not to be swayed by religious beliefs or any other form of persuasion when buying landed properties.
