Police Officers reportedly arrestsdoctor for raping patient during surgery in Kwara State  

A medical doctor, Ayodele Joseph, has been arrested by the Kwara State Police Command for allegedly raping a patient during surgery.

The victim, a nurse who has asked to remain anonymous, reported the incident to the police on May 5, 2023. She said she went to Ayodele Hospital in Ilorin for surgery, and that Dr. Joseph sedated her during the procedure. When she woke up, she found that she had been raped.

The police commissioner, Paul Odama, confirmed the arrest and said that Dr. Joseph is currently in custody. He said that the doctor will be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed.

This is a disturbing case of a doctor abusing his position of trust. It is important for patients to be aware of the signs of sexual assault, and to report any suspicious behavior to the police.

“On the 5th of May, one female victim (name withheld) a nurse reported that she went to Ayodele Hospital at No. 290, Sawmill Area, Lagos Road, Ilorin for surgery.

“The chief medical director of the hospital, one Dr Ayodele Joseph, during the procedure sedated the patient, which led her to become unconscious.
